Bright Orange Spots or Streaks
Sample: Spots on Polaroid Film If the developer is not distributed evenly, bright orange spots will appear on the film. Dirty rollers caused the spots at the left. Material stuck on the rollers prevented the developer from being distributed evenly.
Solution: Please see "Cleaning the Rollers" below.

If you see an orange streak across the film, this again is a problem of uneven distribution of the developer. When you pulled the film, it stopped just before it got all the way out of the camera. Typically you will see a streak where the film stopped.
Solution:  Make sure you pull the film in one steady motion, without stopping.

DIRTY film rollers are the biggest cause for picture problems.

You MUST remove the rollers from the camera to properly clean them. If you cannot figure out how to get the rollers out of the camera, please refer to the section below. Remove, check, and clean if necessary, the film rollers after each pack of film. This is the most important step to obtaining good usable pictures. As you clean the rollers, turn them to make sure all surfaces are clean. If the rollers have not been cleaned for a long time, soak them in warm water and use a toothbrush to scrub them clean. You may also use a dishwasher (place them in the utensil basket). Do not disassemble the film roller assembly. Also clean inside the film back door, and the film exit slot.

DO NOT use alcohol on the rollers as they use nylon bushings and the alcohol will destroy the bushings.

To Remove the Film Rollers:

Place your fingers on the steel loops of the roller assembly indicated by the arrows, and pull outwards. You must remove the film rollers to properly clean them.

Also, clean the film exit slot.
